Sandra Rayner completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Science Disorders in 1988 and Master of Science in Audiology in 1990 both at San Francisco State University. She later obtained her Clinical Doctorate in Audiology through the Vanderbilt/Central Michigan Au.D. program in 2006. Sandra began her audiology career in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she worked for an ENT practice for several years. She relocated to Mt. Pleasant, Michigan in 2000 where she began clinical supervision of audiology students, teaching Au.D. courses and directing the audiology clinic.
Sandra joined Sacramento ENT in November, 2011 and comes to us with over 20 years experience as a clinical audiologist. Her specialty areas are Pediatrics and Cochlear Implants. She enjoys clinical audiology and the opportunity to once again train 4th Year doctoral students. Sandra is very happy to be back in northern California where her family resides.
Barbara Bennitt attended universities in San Francisco and Los Angeles for undergraduate work, relocated to Sacramento and obtained her Master of Arts degree in Audiology at California State University, Sacramento. Her training also included Speech Pathology with an interest in stuttering therapies. She has worked as a Clinical Audiologist in several Otolaryngology practices before coming to Sacramento Ear, Nose & Throat Surgical and Medical Group in 1994.
Barbara specializes in diagnostic testing, such as VNG and ABR. She believes one of the benefits of working at Sacramento Ear, Nose and Throat is the collaborative atmosphere and the knowledge other staff members bring, ranging from pediatric and adult testing, cochlear implants, central auditory processing testing, rehabilitation and hearing aids.
Sara Goldfarb completed both her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Science Disorders in 1987 and Master of Science in Audiology in 1988 at Radford University in Virginia. She began her audiology career in Jacksonville, Florida where she worked in a private practice audiology clinic and ENT practice for 13 years- specializing in diagnostic audiology, hearing aid dispensing, and industrial audiology. Sara relocated to Fort Myers, Florida in 2001 where she worked as a clinical and dispensing audiologist in private practice. In 2006, she joined a new hearing instrument manufacturer and helped launch a new line of high technology hearing aids. Sara returned to an ENT practice before deciding to move to Sacramento, her husband’s hometown.
Sara joined S.E.N.T. Hearing Aid Center in early 2011, and comes to us with over 20 years of experience as a clinical and dispensing audiologist. She has greatly enjoyed her many years of dispensing hearing aids in a variety of settings. Sara looks forward to her new residence in Roseville and helping her fellow neighbors hear better.
James Griffitts received his Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Arizona in 2015 and Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders from Brigham Young University in 2010. James joined Sacramento Ear, Nose and Throat in 2014 where he completed his fourth year doctoral externship. Upon graduating in 2015, James accepted a permanent position as an audiologist with Sacramento ENT.
James specializes in cochlear implant programming and is skilled in the provision of all diagnostic services for patients of all ages. He is also a licensed dispensing audiologist and can be found selecting and fitting hearing aids in the S.E.N.T. Hearing Aid Center. It is his goal to provide the utmost quality of care to every patient he encounters. James is thrilled to be back in northern California where he was born and raised. When not providing audiologic services to the patients of Sacramento ENT, James enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
Deborah Planchard completed her Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education at Hartnell Junior College in 1980, and her Master of Science in Audiology at California State University, Sacramento in 1985. Deborah began her career working for Burger Rehabilitation Systems developing their new Audiology Department which serviced geriatric patients in long term care facilities. In 1986, she joined Lodi Plaza Head and Neck Associates providing audiology and vestibular diagnostic services and hearing aid evaluations. During this employment, she was able to share her love of Audiology and teaching by supervising students in their fellowship year. For five years, she worked for San Joaquin General Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit accessing the hearing of the premature infants. With over 25 years of experience, she joined S. E.N.T. in 2014. Deborah is excited to be a part of the Audiology staff in the Stockton office and to assist patients with their amplification needs.
